Got a Tip?

McG Confirms That Linda Hamilton Plays An Important Role In ‘Terminator Salvation’

McG let all kinds of secrets out of the bag at New York Comic Con about “Terminator Salvation”: the fact that today’s Arnold Schwarzenegger won’t appear in the film and that Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and composer Gustavo Santaolalla might collaborate on music and for the picture on top of what Danny Elfman is already writing.

When asked whether Linda Hamilton would reprise her role as Sarah Connor in the film, McG hinted, but wasn’t really that coy. He basically said, she’ll appear in some form or another.

“I can’t answer all those questions, they ruin all the fun, but perhaps in not answering the question, there’s a small answer hidden within. Who likes Sarah Connor out there? She’s the greatest and this movie is about the fundamental triangle of Terminator: Kyle Reese must go back [in time], ultimately impregnate Sarah Connor to give the birth to the one, John Connor who will save us from the brink. And that triangle must be protected. So naturally as a leg in that triangle, one can imagine that she plays an important role in this picture.”

Now whether that important role is just a newly recorded voice-over (as McG had once said he hoped to do), or an appearance by the actress today, or old unused footage from “Terminator” remains to be seen, but McG seems intent on putting her in there somewhere.
