"Kingsman: The Secret Service" was a big hit at the beginning of the year, but it hasn’t seemed to sustain in the way the enthusiasm at the time might’ve suggested. Nonetheless, a sequel is in the works, and Matthew Vaughn has provided a small update on its progress.
"I’m writing it next door at the moment. If I think I can get the script good enough, then we are making it,” he told Yahoo. “We are doing our damndest to make that happen.”
Of course, he’s not sharing any specific plot details, other than an American agent might feature this time. And in case you forgot, Colin Firth‘s title character isn’t necessarily dead either. "A lot of people are very upset that Colin might not be in the sequel, but I’m coming up with ideas at the moment. If people buy tickets in America, I’ve got a feeling we’ll figure out a way for having Colin back,” Vaughn said in February. And it sounds like he wants to direct as well.
“I’m in love with these characters and I want to work with them again, so I’ll probably be breaking the rule of [me] tending not to make sequels,” he stated.
Until then, here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the church fight in ‘Kingsman.’
There should be no difficulty at all in bringing Harry back into the sequel after all we didn\’t see the body on the ground and the way Valentine shrunk away as he fired the gun he could have missed. The film was great with Harry but if Harry doesn\’t come back I wont be spending my money on it. The great feature of the film was the astonishing performance of Colin Firth as action man.
