**SPOILERS AHEAD** I didn’t like "Kingsman: The Secret Service" very much at all, but one of the film’s few bold choices was to have Samuel L. Jackson‘s villain kill off Colin Firth in the second act. It added some heft to the otherwise lightweight, juvenile movie and was a true narrative surprise. But it would seem that the current franchise era demands that no one really dies, and so it’s not a shock that Matthew Vaughn is already teasing the actor’s return should a sequel to ‘Kingsman’ happen (which isn’t out of the question given how well it did at the box office this past week).
"A lot of people are very upset that Colin might not be in the sequel but I’m coming up with ideas at the moment. If people buy tickets in America, I’ve got a feeling we’ll figure out a way for having Colin back,” Vaughn told USA Today. But don’t get it twisted, the story is still very much about Eggsy, with Vaughn adding: “I joke that we’ve made the prequel to the Eggsy movie.”
And while a ‘Kingsman’ sequel is not beyond reason, the filmmaker is still talking about the world of "Kick-Ass" which it seems everyone has moved on from, with hope that it can be revived.
"Do you know what’s going to be next if I do it… we’ve finished plotting it," he told JoBlo about a potential "Kick-Ass 3," adding that he wouldn’t direct. "What we have to do is, we’ve got to do the ‘First Class’ to the ‘Kick-Ass’ world. We lost a few fans on ‘Kick-Ass 2.’ It wasn’t as loved as one would’ve hoped. So we have this idea for a Hit Girl prequel. It’s a really strong, really simple prequel where I think we can regain the love and the passion. If that happens, I’m pretty sure I can persuade Aaron and Chloe to come back and finish the story of Kick-Ass with ‘Kick-Ass 3.’" Good luck with that.
And speaking of "X-Men," Vaughn reveals that he wanted a young Wolverine and current Wolverine Hugh Jackman in "X-Men: Days Of Future Past." "I had a whole different idea of how X-Men should go," he told MTV News (via Comic Book Movie). "I thought ‘Days of Future Past’ should be the next one and be set in the ’80s. So, when I wrote the treatment, I then wrote ‘Kingsman’ and got confused about which film I should direct next. Then I said to Fox, ‘Let me do ‘Kingsman’ now, get somebody else in and we’ll do the ’70s version, recast Wolverine, and then we do ‘Days of Future Past’ with the new Wolverine and Hugh, and make it the biggest spectacle we’ve ever seen."
Clearly, that didn’t happen, but it’s an interesting alternate world to think about. Lastly, Hugh Jackman also chatted with MTV News recently while doing the rounds for "Chappie" and weighed in on what Patrick Stewart recently said about his role in "The Wolverine" followup, plus the extent on which it will draw on the comics. I like The Playlist very much, but I have to agree with JR: the headline does spoil: you can asume Firth\’s fate by it, making the warning in the article completely irrelevant. So easy to write in other ways. Looking forward to see it, anyway.
He has to bring Colin Firth back. There is no Kingsman without him. He was just awesome! Believe me, nobody is going to see the sequel for the kid. I certainly wouldn\’t and I have seen it twice!

Haven\’t seen the movie, and haven\’t read the article, but still not sure how that headline spoils anything without moving forward. I have my guesses, but since I haven\’t seen the movie and I won\’t be reading it until afterwards, i\’m not sure what the issue is.
Why would you ruin the movie for people with that first headline? I get if the movie has been out for a couple of weeks or months then that\’s fine, but to write it just after the first weekend? What\’s the matter with you? I was so looking forward to catching this movie tonight.
