After a three-year hiatus, Marvel Studios is finally back at San Diego Comic-Con and they come bearing a tremendous amount of movie news. During their whirlwind, hour-long presentation, Kevin Feige announced both the full Phase 5 lineup and even teased some of the huge crossover films that will take place in Phase 6. That’s a lot to digest, but for now, let’s focus on the full picture of Phase 5’s films – and everyone’s favorite announcement, a brand new “Captain America” film.

The big announcement is that Anthony Mackie‘s “Captain America: New World Order” is the official title. Where Sam Wilson is now taking on the Captain America mantle and is directed by Julius Onah. Feige also announced “Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania” will kick off Phase 5 next year, “Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3,” “The Marvels,” “Blade” starring Mahershala Ali is newly set for release on November 3, 2023, and then the next “Captain America” installment on May 3, 2024.
Here’s the full list of release dates:
“Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania” will kick off Phase 5 on February 17, 2023.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” will hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
“The Marvels” will hit theaters on July 28, 2023.
“Blade” will hit theaters on November 3, 2023.
“Captain America: New World Order” will close Phase 5 on May 3, 2024.
They also confirmed and dated their “Thunderbolts” movie, from director Jake Schreier, for July 26, 2024. How all these projects will connect with each other is something we’ll have to learn once we get our eyeballs on them. For now, though, fans can start wildly speculating as to how Marvel’s Phase 5 will close out what has happened so far – and what it might mean for the three films announced in Phase 6.
