It’s been a little while since fans have seen anything of substance from filmmaker Mark Romanek. The filmmaker is probably best known for his music video output, but he’s also dabbled in other mediums, with films like “Never Let Me Go” and “One Hour Photo,” as well as episodes of TV series like “Vinyl” and “The Whispers.” But for the last several years, it’s mainly been music videos for Romanek. That is, until now. The director is teaming up with a great actress for a brand-new TV series.
According to Deadline, Romanek has signed on with Amazon to direct “Tales from the Loop,” which will star Rebecca Hall. The ambitious sci-fi series takes its inspiration from artist Simon Stålenhag and his incredible works, telling the story of a town that lives above The Loop. This machine was built to help unlock the mysteries of the universe, and in doing so, has given the people technology and advancements they never dreamed possible.

Hall is one of the busier actresses in Hollywood at the moment. She’s currently in production on the massive blockbuster “Godzilla vs. Kong” and already has her next two projects lined up, including her directorial debut “Passing.” So, it’ll still be a while until she’s free to work on ‘The Loop.’
Recently, the actress was seen in “Professor Marston and the Wonder Women” and will next appear in “Teen Spirit.” So yeah, there’s a lot of Rebecca Hall coming your way.
“Tales from the Loop” will be written by Nathaniel Halpern, who is probably best known for being a writer on series like “Legion” and “Outcast,” as well as “The Killing.”
As mentioned, there’s no release date set for ‘The Loop,’ but with Hall’s busy schedule, we’re guessing fans are still a long way away from seeing this sci-fi series hit Amazon.
