Got a Tip?

Malin Akerman Finds ‘Suburgatory’; Chloe Sevigny Visits ‘Portlandia’; Ciarán Hinds Joins ‘Game Of Thrones’ & More

nullMalin Akerman has had a bit of an unlucky run on the big screen in 2012, with "Wanderlust" and "Rock Of Ages" both underperforming, and the upcoming "Stolen" with Nicolas Cage looking like….well, a Nicolas Cage movie. But she's hoping to cap off the the year on a stronger note. The actress is headed to the small screen for some guest stints on ABC's "Suburgatory." The episodes, set to air near Thanksgiving and Christmas, will find her popping up as the "beautiful and free-spirited singer-songwriter" mother of Tessa (Jane Levy), with whom she hopes to form a relationship and put her troubled past behind her. "Suburgatory" returns in October.

Next up, Chloe Sevigny continues her TV domination. With "Big Love" now in the past, she is staying with cable, appearing this summer in the transgendered hitman series "Hit & Miss" as well as booking a spot on the second season of "American Horror Story." And oh yeah, she guested on this week's episode of "Louie." And she'll continue to exercise her funny bone by appearing in a few episodes of every hipster's favorite comedy, "Portlandia." She'll be playing Alexandra, who moves in with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, presumably causing wacky things to happen. "Portlandia" returns in January.

Meanwhile, "Game Of Thrones" nerds will be happy to know that the usually awesome Ciaran Hinds has landed the role of Wilding leader Mance Rayder, the King Beyond the Wall. Which, for this writer, who has yet to catch up with the show, means absolutely nothing. But Rayder will be an integral character who gets the folks from the Far North together to attack The Wall. Which also sounds like a great idea to write a prog rock concept album around. Production is underway on the third season, which will hit the airwaves starting March 31, 2013.

Finally, Paul Schneider has bagged a role on AMC's untitled legal drama from Richard La Gravenese and Tony Goldwyn. He'll be playing Clark Rylance, a lawyer at the Innocence Project who falls in love with someone who has key evidence that could exonerate a prisoner on death row. Not so innocent then, amirite? La Gravenese is writing with Goldwyn directing the pilot, and we'll see if this one can make it to series on picky AMC. [THR/The Wrap/EW/THR]
