It's pretty clear now that Fox has no fucking clue what to do with "The Three Stooges," the passion project by the Farrelly Brothers. The tone certainly suggests a movie for kids, and the studio reached out for middle America by having Larry, Curly and Moe do some shenanigans at the Daytona 500. But now they're making a late reach for teens with a spot that riffs on "Jackass," but it still delivers zero laughs.
Yet another trailer has dropped for the movie and pretty much the whole thing is Sean Hayes, Will Sasso and Chris Diamantopoulos hitting each other for a minute and a half. Hilarious. This thing got on our nerves after five seconds, so we have no idea how anybody is going to stand this for a whole movie. We said it before, and we'll say it again: The Three Stooges comedy has not aged well, and while the idea of doing a throwback style of comedy was probably an interesting idea on paper, in execution, this thing looks like an utter failure. And on a related note, that closing gag of Larry getting bit in the balls and doing the opera voice thing is getting really old, really fast.
That said, Larry, Curly and Moe are beloved and have a fanbase so who knows, maybe they'll eat this right up. But we have better things to do on April 13th. Watch below.

Well, the best thing to do would have been not to greenlight this project. Dumb idea, dumb looking trailer and destined to be a big flop.
I'll see this only on the condition that I'm drunk. So drunk I pass out. I wish it was funny but I didn't laugh once through the trailer.
Three Stooges is still hilarious. Not sure how well the farrelly brothers delivered in this, but the concept is still definitely funny.
