With a release date in France just weeks away, and with “Mood Indigo” looking like a return to form for Michel Gondry, we’re still patiently awaiting word of any kind of stateside release. The film still needs a U.S. distributor to step up and bring it to theaters, and hopefully there will be some news soon, but until then we’ll just have to look from afar at what we’re missing.
A batch of new wonderful and weird new images from the picture have dropped online, giving another fascinating peek into the distinct world Gondry has built. Starring Audrey Tautou, Romain Duris, Gad Elmaleh and Omar Sy, the movie seems chock full of Gondry’s trademark visuals, with handcrafted props, oddball furniture and bold backdrops against which the romance and laughs in this movie take place. Now whether or not it all comes together remains to be seen, but those looking to lose themselves in a universe of Gondry’s making should be pleased.
Check it out below. “Mood Indigo” opens overseas on April 24th.
