Christmas parties are almost always terrible. And what makes the average holiday party even worse is when it’s full of old high school friends. Therefore, it makes sense that Margaret and Henry are ready to ditch that terrible scene and enter into a night of debauchery in the new film “Lost Holiday,” which is set to premiere at the upcoming Slamdance Film Festival.
And to honor the film’s upcoming debut, we’re lucky enough to present an exclusive clip from the film, which shows that the evening of craziness begins to bleed into the daytime for these folks as they attempt to solve the kidnapping of a socialite, while pretty hungover. Yeah, it’s pretty silly, but also very, very funny.
The clip shows actress Kate Lyn Sheil attempting to break into a car in the middle of the day. However, as you might expect with people coming off a hard night of partying, their criminal skills are a bit…diminished. Quickly (or not so quickly, thanks to the beat-up car), the duo have to flee after everything goes awry.
“Lost Holiday” stars Sheil alongside Thomas Matthews, Keith Poulson, William Jackson Harper, Ismenia Mendes, Tone Tank, Joshua Leonard, and Isiah Whitlock Jr. The film is written and directed by the duo of Michael and Thomas Matthews.
“Lost Holiday” will premiere at this year’s Slamdance Film Festival, which begins on January 25.
Here’s the synopsis:
Margaret and Henry are back home in Washington DC for the holidays. At a Christmas party of old high school friends, Margaret discovers that her ex-boyfriend is now engaged. With her holiday mood ruined, Margaret and Henry ditch the party to go score some drugs. What starts as a night of debauchery evolves into a self-indulgent quest when the two friends become convinced that they are the only ones who can solve the kidnapping of a neighborhood socialite.
