When the trailer for Spike Jonze‘s “Her“ dropped a couple weeks back, it was a bombshell. It not only looked pretty damn great, but it also brought with it all sorts of little bits of music news, including the reveal that Arcade Fire would be providing the score and Karen O—the Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman who tuned up “Where The Wild Things Are“—had a new song for the movie too. And well, now you can hear the whole damn thing.
Warner Bros. has dropped online “The Moon Song” for your streaming pleasure. It’s an intimate and spare number, not miles away from what she did for ‘Things,’ adorned by nothing more than Karen O’s voice and an acoustic guitar. Nicely done. If you want to rock it on your iPod you can download it below, but be warned, Warner Bros. is capping the freebies at 10,000 so get clicking.
“Her” heads to TIFF next where there will be a preview of select scenes and a discussion with Jonze, and the movie will premiere proper at the New York Film Festival. Listen below. No word yet on when the soundtrack will drop, but probably closer to the December 18th release date for the movie. [Bleeding Cool]
