After delivering excellent scores for both Bennett Miller‘s “Moneyball” and Ang Lee‘s “Life Of Pi” (he won an Oscar for the latter), we’re going to be paying attention to whatever Mychael Danna does next, and we won’t have to wait long. Next week, he’s the man behind the music in Wally Pfister‘s “Transcendence,” and a preview of his work is here.
Moviefone has dropped four tracks from the soundtrack, ranging from the percussive “Transcend,” to the delicately electronic “Building Will” along with “Get Off The Grid” and “The Only One He Trusts.” It’s a nice sonic set-up for the film. Meanwhile, another viral video has dropped, highlighting the two opposing forces of the film: R.I.F.T., an anti-AI group who don’t want the singularity to happen, and Dr. Will Caster, played by Johnny Depp, who promises profound changes to humankind if he’s allowed to harness the collective power of every computer.
See what happens when “Transcendence” boots up on April 18th. The soundtrack streets on April 15th.
