Got a Tip?

Beyond Limited: ‘The Limits Of Control’ Expansion Release Plan

One thing most film companies do is promote their release schedule beyond it’s opening week much (hint, hint), so when something opens on a certain date in limited release, it’s generally up to audiences in smaller markets to look to their alt-weeklies (like the Village Voice in NY for example) to tell them what’s hitting when.

Jim Jarmusch’s heady, existentialist noir, “The Limits Of Control,” hits theaters this Friday, May 1, but it’s only in limited release in New York and L.A. (we really dug the elliptical nature to the film). When does the rest of the country get to see it? Good question, we asked and were provided the roll-out expansion plans. Some of it is subject to change if/when something happens, but you know the larger cities will be locked in at this point.

MAY 8
Boston, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington DC

MAY 15
Denver, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, OR, San Diego

May 22
Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Houston, Sacramento, St. Louis

May 29
Baltimore, Cleveland, OH, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Monterey (Santa Cruz), Santa Barbara, Tucson

JUNE 5

“The Limits of Control” stars Isaach De Bankolé as a mysterious loner sent to pull off an equally opaque job in Spain. The film also co-stars John Hurt, Paz De La Huerta, Bill Murray, Gael Garcia Bernal, Tilda Swinton (just to name a few) and hits theaters in New York and Los Angeles this weekend. Here’s the trailer and the soundtrack details if you haven’t already seen them.
