‘The Lighthouse’ Exclusive Featurette: Robert Pattinson Is Compared To Buster Keaton In New Look At Robert Eggers’ Film

If you didn’t already know this about the actor, “The Lighthouse” is proof that Robert Pattinson is very much the real deal and one of the best performers on the planet. While his roles in films like “Good Time” and the recent “High Life” show the range and ability of Pattinson, Robert Eggers’ thriller “The Lighthouse” is perhaps the best showcase of the actor’s ability to date.

And in an exclusive featurette from the making of “The Lighthouse,” we see the director, along with co-star Willem Dafoe, rave about the actor’s ability in a film that hinges on every word and action that he expresses. At one point, Eggers describes Pattinson’s ability as reminiscent of the legendary Buster Keaton, and if you’ve seen the film, you know exactly what he’s talking about. The actor is able to do things in “The Lighthouse” that he hasn’t been given the chance to previously, including some absurdist comedy, pure horror, and of course, an extended scene where he just yells “What!?” at his co-star.

Needless to say, you probably won’t hear anything in the featurette that isn’t obvious from watching the film, but hearing Eggers and Dafoe talk about Pattinson’s ability is a stark reminder that he’s one of the best working today.

“The Lighthouse” is playing in theaters now and is one of the most nominated films of this year’s awards season.

As if you didn’t already know this, here’s the synopsis for the film:
