Wow, “G.I Joe: The Rise Of Cobra” is going to be such a colossal faaaaaaail. You can bet Paramount is scrambling as much as they can. There’s been hardly one positive word of geek talk from this one. Early prediction? “The Spirit” of 2009. Wow, painful. [via Defamer]
or, it might be awesome.
Awww.
Poor Joseph Gordon Levitt.
I liked the spirit!
This looks more like the Love Guru of 2009.
I was just going to say, why did Joseph Gordon Levitt sign on for this steaming pile?
Jesus, it looks like they spent $4 on that thing.
If done well, this would be the perfect thing for a 12 year old. And by done well, I mean it would have easy-to-follow action, wisecracks, wacky spy tech, fun FX, and some sort of lesson that a kid could enjoy. Because this is kids’ shit, and its not hard. Instead, I bet it will be too violent, morally bankrupt, unfunny, and geared towards irony-deprived seventeen year olds who know “G.I. Joe” from those dubbed PSA’s that hit the internet five years ago. There’s something intensely saddening about that.
You either send $100+ million on these things or, like Ghost Rider or Fantastic Four (see the success of those), you go cheap for $60 or $80 and they look laughable.
Sienna Miller as Baroness? I’m there.
here’s NO WAY those can be authentic.
No film studio would ever dare putting out something which looks that amateur.
