Things are going very well for Lea Seydoux. After having a very short appearance in the opening of Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” — she played one of the daughters of the French farmer Christoph Waltz interrogates — Seydoux appeared in the films of Ridley Scott and Woody Allen, and she recently added Wes Anderson to her list of auteurs with her role in his upcoming “The Grand Budapest Hotel” (and as the star of the Anderson and Roman Coppola co-directed Prada ads). The French actress, however, hasn’t forgotten about her homeland as she’s set to join Benoit Jacquot’s “Three Hearts” (“Trois coeurs“) alongside two other French stars.
French film site Allocine is reporting that Seydoux will re-team with her “Farewell, My Queen” director for a drama set in the modern day. Seydoux stars opposite Charlotte Gainsbourg and Belgian actor Beniot Poelvoorde (“Man Bites Dog”), with the two actresses playing sisters raised by Catherine Deneuve as their mother.
Aside from the fact that Jacquot is co-writing the screenplay alongside Julien Boivent, there’s no details on what the film is about. Could Poelvoorde be a man that comes between the two sisters? We’ll have to wait to find out but “Three Hearts” starts shooting this September. Is it too early to predict the lineup for Cannes 2014? And oh yeah, in case you’re wondering what’s going with Jacquot’s “Diary Of A Chambermaid” starring Marion Cotillard that was recently announced, that wasn’t scheduled to shoot until next year anyway, so it’s still on the table.
