Got a Tip?

‘Killing Eve’: First Look & Teaser Of The Final Season Which Arrives February 20 On AMC

What’s happening with everyone’s favorite cat and mouse spy thriller, “Killing Eve”? Well, it’s basically going out on top and ending early. Season four is its final one, and the game between Eve and Villanelle is coming to an end. To back up a bit, in case you’ve missed it, “Killing Eve” is the hit BBC American/AMC British spy thriller starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, who has since become a big start because of the show (and you can argue part of the reason the series is coming to an end is Comer is getting movie offer after movie offer and probably doesn’t want to turn any of that stuff down).

The series is essentially about two women who are essentially dissatisfied with their lives and don’t know it. One is a desk-jobbing security clerk for MI5 (Oh), and the other one is a bored and unengaged Russian assassin (Comer). But when Oh’s character Eve starts to pick up on the sloppy breadcrumbs of Comer’s character Villanelle’s assassinations, they soon get on each other’s radar in a major way. Over three seasons, their interests in each other have evolved from curiosity and fascination to deadly obsession and something even bordering on a love story.

Created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge of “Fleabag” fame, based on the book series, her fame took her away from this show too, only writing and working on the first season before Hollywood offers poured in. Then Emerald Fennell took over, but she then wrote and directed “Promising Young Woman.” Her career took off, and she departed the series too. Suzanne Heathcote(“Fear the Walking Dead”) was the showrunner for season three, and the final season is being run by Laura Neal (it’s become something of an incubator for U.K. talent)

“Eve and Villanelle, having left each other in total turmoil on Tower Bridge at the end of season 3, are thrown into season 4 trying to figure out what they mean to each other and what their lives now stand for,” executive producer Sally Woodward Gentle told EW this week. “And while Carolyn has shot a man in cold blood, she is trying to find out who is responsible for the hit on her son. This one is going to be a lot more personal and passionate than the seasons before.”

Fiona Shaw, Kim Bodnia, co-star, and season 4 premieres with back-to-back episodes starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Feb. 27 on BBC America. (You can get watch the premiere one week early, Feb. 20 on AMC+, or one day late, Feb. 28 on AMC.) Watch the new teaser and check out the first look images below.
