"Sadly, I think I’m done with the character," Chloe Moretz said last summer about her future playing Hit-Girl following the disappointing box office results of "Kick-Ass 2" in 2013. "Hit-Girl was a very cool character, but I don’t think there will be any more movies. You make these movies for the fanboys, but nowadays everyone seems to pirate them rather than watch them in the movie theatre." While the actress’ swipe at piracy ignores the fact that the reception to the sequel was not as warm as the first, and no one was really asking for a sequel, it seems at one point that there was talk of extending the brand a bit further.
Doing the rounds for "Kingsman: The Secret Service," "Kick-Ass" creator Mark Millar revealed that had things gone a different way, the series would’ve continued in an interesting direction. “Before ‘Kick-Ass 2’ came out, we’d been talking about a Hit-Girl spin-off movie” he told IGN. “We’d even talked to a director – we had a couple of calls with Gareth Evans, who I absolutely love. He’s an amazing director. But Gareth’s now busy. ”
In other words, in an alternate universe, the guy who made "The Raid," could’ve brought his relentless action chops to the "Kick-Ass" series. Dare to dream. But speaking of Evans, while he’s certainly busier these days, one project we won’t see for a while from him is "The Raid 3." He recently hit Twitter to share the status of the much talked about trilogy capper.
. @GundamFan4Life The Raid 3 isn’t going to be happening anytime soon. Ideas in my head. Nothing written. No set date. 2018/19 possibly.

Thoughts? Could a solo Hit-Girl film have worked? Or is it best this franchise just quietly moved on? Let us know below.
sometimes an actor /character steals a film and we all want them get a movie of their own but the novelty would wear off. do we really want a movie with Hit Girl ? or the departed Sgt Dignam ?
hopefully Chloe will have a slow year and change her mind. Teaming this director and this character together seems a no-brainer.
Gareth Evans just might be the most Welsh name in the world.
hope to be heard by Mark Millar I love kickass
I would love to do kickass 3 or maybe hit gril be my favorite movie might not take out it will happen or not there is very little chance to pass but I have hopes. but if I were dying me or you saw a disease that has no cure my serious desire to do kickass 3 or hit gril.

Clearly Mark was about to spin-explode his idea into a wild new direction by mixing a high speed action character with a high speed action director. The outcome would have been amazingly sick and clearly Mark had great vision. Why did he back down?
Comics-wise, the Hit-Girl miniseries, as well as Kick-ass 3, were both pretty stale. More of the same, nothing substantial added to the mix. The world won\’t miss any more Kick-ass movies… If you want to know what could have been, pick up the comics.
Said it before, but Hit Girl was the only interesting character in this series and to add onto that, Millar is a mostly terrible writer. Would it have worked? I doubt it would\’ve done much better money-wise than Kick-Ass 2. Would I have watched it if Evans directed it? Hell yes, without hesitation.
hit girl solo would have worked! her backstory was SO demented, an bottomless goldmine of motivations/reactions. the character "kick-ass" was not @ all interesting…killed both films.
