Kevin Spacey might be Hollywood’s most intriguing enigma at the moment. Certainly one of the finest actors going, but one who hasn’t appeared on the big screen since 2011’s “Horrible Bosses,” he spent most of the last decade abroad working in theater and is currently the lead in the Netflix series “House Of Cards.” So why don’t we see him more often? High standards.
“Unless it’s Martin Scorsese, and it’s a really significant role, f— off,” he told THR. “I’m not playing someone’s brother. I’m not playing the station manager. I’m not playing the FCC chairman.”
And if you think he’s being nuts, go right ahead. “People thought I was crazy 11 years ago when I moved to London and started a theater company,” he adds. “What is he doing? He’s out of his mind. People thought we were crazy when we made the Netflix deal for ‘House of Cards.’ ‘They’re out of their minds, it’ll never work.’ I’m used to people thinking I’m nuts. And you know what? I kind of love it.”
We love it too, man. Though, it should be noted that Spacey is never above making a buck, with the stint in “Horrible Bosses” apparently netting him $1 million for just a couple days of work.
what an ass
EMPIRE magazine voted spacey the best actor of the 90s because of his versatility
dustin hoffman could have played verbal kint in usual suspects
but can you imagine him
as an ice cool cop in LA confidential
deniro could easily played john doe in se7en
but try to imagine him as a father with a crush on a teenager in American beauty
pesci would be perfect as the bully in swimming with sharks
but can you imagine him as a nerveless police negotiator
"Unless it's Martin Scorsese, and it's a really significant role, f— off,"….An exception for Ellen's selfie, of course.
It should also be noted that K-Space isn't being some snooty elitist. He's also starred in a handful of short films by up-and-comers, funded and produced by his company Triggerstreet.
There are no small roles, Mr. Spacey.
I'd like to see him as president… oh wait!
I guess K-Pax was a long time ago.
i'd love to see spacey in a scorsese movie.
