After a week of high drama, things have quieted a bit around “Deadpool 2.” With Tim Miller gone, the search for a replacement director is on, with “John Wick” co-helmer David Leitch reportedly the frontrunner for the gig. And until someone signs on the dotted line, there’s probably not much in the way of casting that’s going to happen, but that doesn’t mean that screen tests or auditions will stop, and a few new names have surfaced as contenders for the role of Domino.

Earlier this month we learned that Lizzy Caplan, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Sienna Miller, Sofia Boutella (“Kingsman: The Secret Service,” “Star Trek Beyond“), Stephanie Sigman (“Spectre,” “Miss Bala“), and Sylvia Hoeks (“Blade Runner 2049“) were all in the running for the part, and now Variety has added supermodel Kelly Rohrbach (next year’s “Baywatch“), Ruby Rose (“Orange Is The Black,” “John Wick: Chapter 2“), and Eve Hewson (“The Knick“) onto the list of possibilities for the part.
Again, it’s probably unlikely any casting announcements are made in advance of a new director, and there are other roles still testing too, including Cable (which was apparently part of the source of the friction between Miller and Ryan Reynolds that led to the filmmaker splitting from the project). But at least as far as Domino goes, the net appears to be pretty wide open for who will be considered for the job.

It is @Collider which revealed the list of actresses tested for the role of Domino ( the October 19th). This is not to Variety. Give back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar.

Eve Hewson has the acting chops…I don’t know the model chick (oh brother, really?) and I like Ruby Rose but…? Ultimately, it’s all about embodying the character and chemistry with RR, right? So my opinion is just that…but thanks for asking!

Lizzy Caplan has the extreme attitude and snark to go up against Deadpool. Eve Hewson would also have the required snotty attitude. When you’re Bono’s daughter, you learn how to make yourself heard.
