Got a Tip?

Halsey, Kate Upton, ‘Broad City’ Stars And More Guest Judges On ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10’

Tonight, “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” will feature a visit from none other than former House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi.  The series has become an increasingly popular pit stop for many celebrities and the 10th season of the Emmy Award winning “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” the mother series,  is no exception.  The new season will debut on March 22nd and VH1 has lined up an impressive list of Oscar, Grammy, Tony and Emmy Award winners and nominees to judge the contestants.

This season’s guest judges include the previously announced Christina Aguilera (a regular “The Voice” judge, no less), legendary country pop artist Shania Twain, iconic rock star Courtney Love, “GIRLS” creator Lena Dunham,  Grammy nominee Halsey, “Broad Girls” stars Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, supermodel Kate Upton, “Billy On The Street’s” Billy Eichner, “Big Sick” Oscar nominees and Indie Spirit Award winners Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon, “Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi, “Younger” star Nico Tortorella, six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald, one-time hip hop star Ashanti, “Dear White People” star Logan Browning, actress Tisha Campbell-Martin, “True Blood” and “Good Wife” star Carrie Preston, original “Book of Mormon” star Andrew Rannells, “13 Reasons Why” and “Love, Simon” star Miles Heizer, regular guest judge Todrick Hall and contemporary hip-hop artist Lizzo.

Additionally, longtime RuPaul fans Stephen Colbert, Andy Cohen and Cheyenne Jackson will treat the queens to special guest appearances.

Recent “Celebrity Big Brother” runner-up Ross Matthews, Michelle Visage and original “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” star Carson Kressley will return as regular judges.

For it’s 10th season 14 drag queens will compete for the valuable title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” and a grand prize of $100,000.   The previously announced queens include: Asia O’Hara (Dallas, TX), Aquaria (Brooklyn, NY), Blair St. Clair (Indianapolis, IN), Dusty Ray Bottoms (New York, NY), returning contestant Eureka O’Hara (Johnson City, TN), Kalorie Karbdashian-Williams (Albuquerque, NM), Kameron Michaels (Nashville, TN), Mayhem Miller (Riverside, CA), Miz Cracker (New York, NY), Monét X Change (Bronx, NY), Monique Heart (Kansas City, MO), The Vixen (Chicago, IL), Vanessa Vanjie Mateo (Tampa, FL), and Yuhua Hamasaki (New York, NY).

This is the first season with contestants from New Mexico, Missouri and Indiana.  The five New York queens represent the most Big Apple contestants on the show in one season in the show’s history.

Season 10 will feature all 90-minute episodes and will be followed by “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked” after show at 9:30 PM ET/PT.  That’s two hours of “Drag Race” every week.  Considering the record ratings for last week’s “All Stars” episode it’s not that surprising.

The Playlist visited the set of “Drag Race” this fall, interviewed the judges, producers and will provide a sneak peek of what to expect from season 10 on Tuesday, March 20. You can watch a brand new trailer for the show below.
