Today being April 1st, it can be frustrating to constantly pause and make sure a piece of information is real. So when Slashfilm dropped this bit of intel, my first instinct was that it was yet another April Fool’s Day gag and that I could get on with the rest of the my day. But it turns out it’s legit.
With "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" slated to debut later this month in the U.K., the red carpet premiere details are being put together and sent out, and something curious has been noticed: Julie Delpy (the "Before Sunrise" trilogy) and Linda Cardellini ("Freaks & Geeks," "Bloodline") have been listed among the cast members. And yes, Disney confirmed they are part of the cast, but of course, the secret isn’t being entirely let out of the bag. Latino Review claims to know exactly what the roles are, but they aren’t spilling. Any guesses? Maybe the forever rumored Captain Marvel (who will appear or not, depending on who you ask) with her Mom, or something? Either way, hit the comments section and let us know your thoughts.
Meanwhile, Andy Serkis has spilled who he plays in ‘Ultron.’ "I sort of noticed that people [on the red carpets] sort of knew that I was Ulysses Klaw, so I thought ‘It must be out then.’" he told Empire (via Comic Book Movie) about his "tiny" part. "It was really minimal, but I just loved doing it; it’s a great character." As for now, he doesn’t know if he’ll be called up for the "Black Panther" movie, but we can probably just go ahead and assume he will be.
So, some stuff to contemplate as May 1st draws closer. Check out a new international TV spot for ‘Age Of Ultron’ below.
Also, I\’d like to add that Kevin is grossly misrepresenting the age difference between Delpy and Cardellini – few parents in reality have a 6 year age gap between their children.
Kevin hates all nerds, Brian. Especially comic book film nerds. As to these roles, I wouldn\’t be jumping to conclusions about them – think back to Ashley Johnson in the first Avengers film. Completely minor role. Based on Gonzalez\’s history with this stuff, if it mattered he would\’ve said something. His sudden decision to go all noble just because the film is near release is insipid. This is from the guy who leaked the GI Joe script (among numerous other things).
Do you guys really care about Marvel movies? I would wager a good portion of your audience does not. At all. The coverage of them here is totally in contrast to the majority of the posts on this site. I would humbly submit that you guys consider no longer covering movies like this and sticking to the rest of the fare that you are legitimately into. Am I wrong? Is there actually a large contingent of The Playlist that cares about news related to Marvel movies that also runs on aicn and the rest of the fanboy film sites?
I noticed about a week ago there is n woman listed on the AoU IMDB page, way down at the bottom, named Charlott Mason Apps who is listed as being a double for "Mrs. Barnum". So, who is "Mrs Barnum"?
I did happen to find a Danielle Barnum who wouldn\’t be very well known outside of the broadway scene.
