Got a Tip?

Julianne Moore To Star In ‘Sharper’ From Apple & A24

The relationship between Apple and A24 hasn’t really officially begun, as their first feature, Sofia Coppola’sOn The Rocks” isn’t yet released, but the two companies keep extending their partnership. Now, it appears that they’re getting Julianne Moore involved, as the actress will appear in a new film, “Sharper.”

According to Deadline, Moore has signed on to star in the upcoming feature, “Sharper,” which is a co-production between Apple, A24, and Picturestart. The film, written by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka, follows Moore as a con artist that targets the billionaires of Manhattan.

“Sharper” isn’t the first project that Moore has lined up over at Apple. Previously, it was announced that the actress would star in the Stephen King TV adaptation, “Lisey’s Story.” That series is actually the rare King adaptation that is actually written entirely by the Master of Horror. “Lisey’s Story” is directed by Pablo Larraín.

Moore is one of the most acclaimed actresses working today. She’s earned an impressive four Oscar nominations over the years, winning one Best Actress trophy for her film “Still Alice.”

In addition to “Sharper,” Apple and A24 are teaming up for the aforementioned “On the Rocks,” which is directed by Coppola and stars Bill Murray and Rashida Jones. The two studios also announced that Josephine Decker’s next film, “The Sky is Everywhere,” would also be a future project in this partnership.

Obviously, it’s unclear when “Sharper” might go in front of cameras. According to the report, there’s no director attached to the project, as of now. It’s unlikely we’ll see the feature anytime soon. That being said, A24 has become a solid studio for those that enjoy quality films and Moore appears in films that are almost always great. So, needless to say, you’re going to want to keep “Sharper” on your radar.
