Julia Child is up there with “Sesame Street” and Fred Rogers as icons of public access TV. So, it was only a matter of time before Child got herself a biopic series for a streaming service and that’s exactly what happened, as “Julia” is preparing to drop later this month.

As the trailer shows, “Juila” goes in-depth to document the life and career of Julia Child, the legendary TV chef who revolutionized the “celebrity chef” craze, basically inventing the entire industry in the process. From her humble beginnings trying to peddle her cookbook wherever she could to becoming a TV sensation as the host of the first real TV cooking show, “Julia” traces all the ups and downs of a fascinating woman.
The series stars Sarah Lancashire as the title character. She’s joined by David Hyde Pierce, Bebe Neuwirth, Fran Kranz, Isabella Rossellini, and more. “Julia” is created and written by Daniel Goldfarb, who is a veteran TV writer and producer, who recently worked on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” And you can definitely see the ‘Maisel’-ness in the first trailer for “Julia.”
