The last time we saw Nicky Parsons was at the very end of "The Bourne Ultimatum." Operation Blackbriar had been exposed, David Webb’s name was made public but there was just one problem….his body still hadn’t be found. And that news brings a smile to Nicky’s face in the terrific final scene that marked a great close to a trilogy of films. But after much convincing Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon are back in ‘Bourne’ mode, and they’ll have a familiar face to join them in the adventure.
Deadline reports that Julia Stiles will reprise her role as Nicky in "Bourne 5." Granted, the character wasn’t always given the most interesting things to do, but she’s a key part of Jason Bourne’s story, and Stiles was always solid in her performance. Of course, there are no plot details right now so don’t ask. But unlike the tumultuous productions of past Bourne films, producer Frank Marshall promises a smoother ride this time.
"I would like to avoid that experience…we have spent a long time on the script development and pre-production and that’s all going very well and we’re not gonna have a race to the finish line. It’s going to hopefully be a slow walk this time," he told Collider.
"The Bourne Whatever It’s Going To Be Called" hits theaters on July 29, 2016. Check out the final scene from ‘Ultimatum’ below. Update: Apparently Viggo Mortensen has been offered a villain role, but who knows if he’ll take it.
The Bourne films starring Matt Damon are really award worthy, and I\’ve seen all three of them multiple times. in my view, Bourne Supremacy is the best of the trilogy. During the scene when Bourne runs from the police to catch a train, then hops on a boat, i stood up. It was that exciting. Can\’t believe I must wait a year.
Even though this mentality seems to belong to a bygone era, I really loved just having that diner scene in ULTIMATUM where their past was touched on very delicately, and we completely got it, and it moved on. I\’m seriously cool without having it all explained and dramatized for me, but I love Julia Stiles. And Viggo Mortensen = HELL YES…
She was fabulous in the scene in Supremacy when Jason pulls the gun on her in the subway. REALLY happy they have included her, because there\’s so much left to explain in that relationship. What is the past together that she hinted at? I always wondered if they knew each other earlier, perhaps when they were both in the military? Anyway, great news!
