‘Tuesday’: Julia Louis-Dreyfus To Star In New A24 Fairy Tale Film From Director Daina O. Pusic

Fresh off her surprising debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” Julia Louis-Dreyfus is retreating from blockbusters for now and heading to the world of independent cinema in a new film from A24 titled “Tuesday.”

According to THR, Julia Louis-Dreyfus has signed on to star in the forthcoming drama, “Tuesday,” which will be produced by A24. An exact synopsis has yet to be released for “Tuesday,” but it’s being described as a “mother-daughter fairytale.” Louis-Dreyfus is joined in the cast by Lola Petticrew and Arinzé Kene, with the former playing her daughter. “Tuesday” marks the directorial debut for filmmaker Daina O. Pusic, who rose to the attention of A24 after working on a number of short films that earned acclaim.

As mentioned, Louis-Dreyfus recently showed up in a couple of cameos in the Disney+ series, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” However, that series is not nearly her biggest credit to date. She’s probably best known for her starring role in the sitcom, “Seinfeld,” which many regard as one of the very best TV series of all time. She also earned a number of awards for her lead role in the critically acclaimed HBO comedy series, “Veep.” Her most recent film work saw her star opposite Will Ferrell in “Downhill,” the dramedy remake of the acclaimed film, “Force Majeure.”

Of course, anything with Julia Louis-Dreyfus is something we’re probably going to be excited to watch. But the fact that A24 has the confidence in “Tuesday” and its filmmaker, Pusic, makes us even more excited to see what the project ends up looking like. It’s still too early to know when the film might arrive in theaters, or if perhaps, it might end up going to Apple TV+ like a number of recent A24 projects.
