Got a Tip?

Jude Law Joins Werner Herzog’s ‘Queen Of The Desert’ With Naomi Watts & Robert Pattinson

Jude LawWell, we're breathing a bit of a sigh of relief. Just over a week ago it was reported that Werner Herzog's "next project" would be an adaptation of DBC Pierre's "Vernon God Little." It made us a bit worried that his Gertrude Bell biopic had been put on ice, but not only is it still moving, it has a new cast member and a start date on the horizon.

Jude Law has come on board the film, joining Naomi Watts and Robert Pattinson. Penned by Herzog as well, the film will tell the true story of Gertrude Bell (Watts) – the traveler, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer, and political attaché for the British Empire at the dawn of the twentieth century. Pattinson will play T.E. Lawrence, aka Lawrence Of Arabia, who worked with Bell to establish the Hashemite dynasties in Jordan and Iraq. No word yet on Law's role. But damn, this cast is shaping up pretty nicely and it will be a reunion for Law and Watts, who worked together on David O. Russell's "I Heart Huckabees."

The actor wil be having a bit of a Euro trip in 2013, kicking off the year shooting Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel" in Germany before going to Morocco to lens this picture in March 2013. Nice work if you can get it. [Deadline]

Morroco is is North Africa NOT Europe

  3. Naomi Watts is definitely the best actress out there right now, beautiful, talented and continuously making good and solid movies with great directors. The Impossible, Queen of the Desert and Blonde are just 3 of her chain of upcoming highly-anticipating projects . She also has Sunlight Jr. and Two Mothers in her bag. Standing ovation and an all-round raves for her powerful and ravishing performance in The Impossible. Yet the small-circle so-called film critics especially from Canada are once again ganging up on promoting and trying to make a king out of a used-to-be expressionless and now suddenly over-the-top young actress Jennifer Lawrence this year. Sigh!

  4. It looks like Cannes premiere in 2014, Watts wins Best Actress, Herzog – Best Director and probably Palm d'Or. It looks like Naomi is going to get Oscar nominations for the 2 upcoming years. Who know, maybe and this year for "Impossible".
I agree, we need to wait untill we'll see these project, but we all know that she is definitely Oscar winner in the nearest future.

  5. Naomi is certainly the best and the most unique actress out there having already worked with some of the best directors in the industry …Haneke, Lynch, Cronenberg and now Herzog. But I believe her best work is yet to come. Can't wait for hor her to do a movie with Lynch again. For me, her seminal performance in "Mulholland Drive" and Isabelle Huppert's in "The Piano teacher" are two of the greatest performances of the noughties.
