Got a Tip?

Josh Duhamel Joins ‘New Year’s Eve’

We’re not sure what the appeal is here — an easy paycheck for about five minutes of working or getting to rub elbows with a bunch of fellow celebs in a breezy romcom — but it appears everyone in Hollywood is jumping out of windows to work on Garry Marshall‘s “New Year’s Eve.”

The Wrap reports that Josh Duhamel has joined the already ridiculously huge cast that includes Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank, Sienna Miller, Sofia Vergara, Jon Bon Jovi, Seth Meyers and Til Schweiger. No word yet on what his role in the film will be but considering the story arcs of everyone else in the film, it will probably revolve around [insert wacky premise] that needs to be resolved by midnight and will lead to him finding/confirming true love with his girlfriend/wife/lover played by [insert appropriate B-level actress].

Filming on this will begin soon because it’s already scheduled to hit theaters on December 9th. And we’d like to think this is the last casting announcement that will be made but we’re not holding our breath.

  1. Dear Fan Boys,

Yes, \’Valentine\’s Day\’ was a pretty crappy film; a totally mindless, popcorn type of flick for adult consumption. However, as a \’capital A\’ Adult AND a huge fan of your site, can I just mention that there are many of us who would rather spend a few mindless hours with a fluffy little \”ooh, look at all the stars they got to dumb down (well, most anyway)\” movie than salivating for every comic book adaptation that seems to take up a disproportionate amount of interest on your website. Yeah, i\’d rather spend my money to watch loads of the films on your \”most anticipated\” list…..but I\’ll probably throw down a few bucks to watch \’New Year\’s Eve\’ with some friends and be mildly entertained as opposed to the paying for the latest hysterical fanboy comic obsession. So, thanks for the casting update and I\’ll look forward to more of them……not to mention news of Marshall\’s next epic, \”Arbor Day\’.
