It looks like the hunt for Osama Bin Laden won't be the only place where Jessica Chastain and Joel Edgerton will hang together. The two rising actors will be reteaming for another project, one that as you might guess from the titles, has a rather ambitious concept.
Ned Benson ("In Defiance of Gravity") will pen and direct these two films which will essentially chronicle the trouble relationship of a New York City couple, the husband a restauranteur and the wife, who decides to go back to college. Of course the titles — "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His" and "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Hers" is a big nod to the Beatles song, but how that influence bears out we'll have to see. But with the tune kicking off with "All the lonely people…" this may be a bit more of a blue hearted tale. But a relationship tale unspooled with two of our fave actors? Hell, sign us up.
The plan is for the two films to be released as standalone movies, but undoubtedly, they will be linked in some way. William Hurt is also circling a role, but no word yet on when this might roll. Chastain and Edgerton have likely have to "Kill Bin Laden" first. [Variety]
