Got a Tip?

Jesse Eisenberg Turning His Book Of Short Stories Into A TV Series

This summer, Jesse Eisenberg is going to play a neophyte swimming in the waters of Hollywood in Woody Allen‘s “Café Society,” but of course, the actor himself is anything but. In addition to being a thespian, Eisenberg is a playwright and author, and now’s going to add director to his resumé.

Eisenberg is creating, writing, and directing a comedy series based on his book of short stories, “Bream Gives Me Hiccups.” Parker Posey, Victor Rasuk and Elliott Smith (obviously, not the singer) will be starring in the show that follows Oscar who deals with life with his newly divorced mother, by writing diary-style restaurant reviews of every place that he takes her. Sounds a little quirky, but not without promise, and this one is already gearing up.

Cameras will roll later this month, but no word yet what network or streaming service might be picking up (and I assume the title will be something other than the rather clunky “Bream Gives Me Hiccups”). But something tells me we’ll probably find out soon enough. [THR]
