**Spoilers ahead** If you’re exhausted talking about "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice" well, tough nuggets. Zack Snyder is gearing up to start shooting "Justice League Part 1" on April 11th, so the conversation around ‘Dawn Of Justice’ and what will follow won’t be stopping anytime soon. And while we can count on pretty much all the key figures of ‘BvS’ returning for the two-part mega team-up movie, it looks like one character will be sitting things out: Lex Luthor.
“I don’t know if they are so settled on where my character goes. I only hope I have another opportunity to work with these wonderful people and play this interesting character,” Jesse Eisenberg told Business Insider.

I suppose with Luthor in jail at the end of ‘Batman v Superman’ it makes sense he’s out of the picture, but given his role in setting up the threat that’s coming in "Justice League," and that the story is spread across two movies, it wouldn’t be entirely out of the question for him to appear again. Maybe in ‘Part 2’? Either way, it doesn’t look like Eisenberg will be part of the crew when ‘Part 1’ starts lensing in a couple of weeks. And as you’ll see from the Instagram post below, LexCorp has shut down.
Meanwhile, if you want to keep digging into ‘Dawn Of Justice,’ check out Empire’s spoiler-y talk with Zack and Deborah Snyder, and Charles Roven below ranging on everything from Jimmy Olsen to drawing up an older Batman. Listen below.

Lex Luther was refreshing. Brilliant and demented at the same time. You have to bring him back.
wonder woman would have made a better lex luther
I for one hope we do see him again as he was one of my most favorite characters in BVS and I don\’t think it would make sense to not see him again. Also, I\’m not in any way sick of BVS talk! 🙂
Jesse gave a great performace but we all have been conditioned in what Luthor should be based on previous performances by others both animated and on film…I liked the different approach and the fact that his darker side has a connection to what is coming to this universe because regardless if he is in the Justice League movies ( I think he will be).. He was the reason for darkseid coming….ding, ding !
Eh, to be clear, I\’m okay with the film being discussed but what I\’m less enthused with seeing is the heavy reiteration on how big a divide exists between what critics thought of the film vs. what fans thought of the film and the really non-subtle insinuation that if you fall in line with the fan school of thought then you\’re somehow sticking your head in the sand while the critics stand with their heads held high. Anyway, having that out of the way – it makes absolute sense not to have Lex feature into the Justice League film(s) (or, at least not play such a pivotal role). It\’s seemed almost painfully clear from the start that Snyder and (insert name here)\’s intent is to do the exact opposite of how Marvel is approaching Thanos with the Avengers and drop Darkseid into the fray almost immediately so the threat the team faces isn\’t some lackey to a "bigger threat" or a sidecar distraction type. But, the bigger question here is, would they keep Eisenberg around as Lex after they\’re done with that? So many of those magical critical opinions seem to differ in regard to his performance in the film, with a lot of them saying he was a bad fit for Luthor overall. Would the next solo Superman film we see in this universe potentially feature an older Lex Luthor, simply for the sake of jettisoning Eisenberg out of the role?
