Jeff Goldblum Teases Appearance In New Thor Short

By all indications, Jeff Goldblum is at full Jeff Goldblum-iness in the upcoming Marvel Studios film, “Thor: Ragnarok.” As the Grandmaster, Goldblum is decked out in the finest sci-fi clothing, with a funny hairstyle and some face paint to pull it all together. But once he opens his mouth, there’s no mistaking that this is just sci-fi Jeff Goldblum and fans are loving it. Well, fear not, Goldblum himself is hinting that we might not have seen the last of the Grandmaster in the MCU.

In an interview with Radio Times (‘Ragnarok’ spoilers abound), Goldblum spills the beans on a special something that he filmed that continues the story of the Grandmaster. “I shot a thing with Taika [Waititi], where there’s a roommate in Australia. I show up at his, and I do knock on his door. And I take up residence in the little flat, as they say here. That’s what I do. And order things from the takeaway restaurant. Buy all the local foods,” says Goldblum.

For those normal people with lives, unlike me, this is clearly a reference to the Thor videos that ‘Ragnarok’ director Taika Waititi shot last year featuring Thor and his roommate Darryl. Again, for those that don’t obsess over superhero movies like me, these short videos featured the God of Thunder hanging out with his decidedly normal roommate, as they work out their odd living arrangement. What happens when you share an apartment with the God of Thunder when he’s not out saving the world? Apparently, you just have to deal with him leaving an immovable hammer in the middle of the floor and the unannounced workplace visits. It’s “What We Do in the Shadows” meets the MCU.

Now, it looks like Jeff Goldblum is joining the duo as the third roommate. Judging by the Darryl and Thor videos already shot, Goldblum’s brand of comedy is perfect for it. And suddenly, there’s nothing in the world that I want more than a sitcom series starring Thor, the Grandmaster, and poor Darryl.
