So, are shark movies a thing now? I suppose it’ll take three to officially make it a trend, but Eli Roth was recently slated to helm "Meg," and now another predator pic is getting in the water.
Deadline reports that "Orphan," "Non-Stop," and "Run All Night" helmer Jaume Collet-Serra is eyeballing the director’s chair for "In The Deep." Penned by Tony Jaswinski, the story centers on a young woman clinging to a buoy twenty yards off shore of an isolated beach, with a great white shark in her path to safety. Yikes. Even more, this one is being compared to "127 Hours," "Jaws," and "Gravity," so basically, it’ll be intense.
Hollywood is going to make it scary to get in the water again, but I mostly hope that if Collet-Serra does the movie, he casts Liam Neeson, and we get to watch the actor punch a shark.
