According to Deadline, “Black Site” is set to star Jason Clarke, Michelle Monaghan, and Jai Courtney. The thriller is set to be the feature debut for Sophia Banks, based on a script from Jinder Ho. The film tells the story of a group of CIA agents that are stationed at a top-secret black site that is housing one of the most infamous criminals on the planet, named Hatchet. Things are going swimmingly until Hatchet escapes detention and the agents are suddenly involved in a deadly cat-and-mouse game with the fugitive.

As mentioned the film stars Clarke, who is probably best known for his appearances in films such as “Terminator: Genisys,” “Pet Sematary,” and the recent “The Devil All the Time.” For Monaghan, she’s shown up in numerous “Mission: Impossible” films and was recently the star of the short-lived Netflix series, “Messiah.” And Jai Courtney is probably most known for his role as Captain Boomerang in “Suicide Squad” and its upcoming James Gunn-helmed sequel/reboot film, as well as also joining Clarke in ‘Genisys.’

Producer Erica Lee explained why Sophia Banks, who previously worked on shorts, was chosen for this project and said, “We were huge fans of her shorts and have been looking for the right project to collaborate on. Sophia has a distinct visual approach and her take on ‘Black Site’ blew us away.”

Production on “Black Site” is expected to begin in February, which points to a late-2021/early-2022 launch.
