Deadline Hollywood reports that Jamie Foxx and Bruce Willis are set to team up for the action film “Kane & Lynch.”
In the film “Willis plays a mercenary who gets framed, and then is broken out of prison by his former mates, who’ve kidnapped his wife and daughter, and give him 72 hours to recover a doomsday device. Foxx will play his partner, a ticking time bomb of a guy prone to violent rages.” That sounds positively insipid, but given the mind boggling success of the equally inane “Law Abiding Citizen” we can’t really say we’re all that surprised this one is attracting A-list talent instead of going straight-to-DVD.
The news leaked thanks to an errant tweet by screenwriter Kyle Ward. Longtime second unit director and stunt coordinator Simon Crane will be making his directorial debut with the film. Shooting is expected to begin in August.
note: its based on a shitty videogame
yeah even by video game standards it's a turd.
Script is actually far better than the shitty videogame; the rare occasion where something decent comes out of terrible source material.
However, the chief reason the script is interesting is the visceral style of Ward's writing, which encapsulates the feeling of an action film in a rather uniquely–a uniqueness that is lost in translation on the big screen.
