Jackon & Spielberg Show Off 'Tintin' Motion, Alexander Skarsgard Doesn't Fancy His 'Thor' Chances, Michael Bay Set For 'Pu

Here’s a look at Andy Serkis and Jamie Bell on the motion-captured set of “Tintin: The Secret of The Unicorn” with Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg. Also starring will be Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Daniel Craig in the film co-written by Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish and Steven Moffat. It is currently due out sometime in 2011. [Empire]

Alexander Skarsgård doesn’t like his chances of scoring the lead role in the upcoming Marvel Norse God project “Thor.” When asked about the possibility of taking up the role, Skarsgard pessimistically replied: “No I don’t think so. I haven’t got the call, so…” A bit early to throw the towel in? [IGN]

Reese Witherspoon is set to lead Fox Searchlight’s project “Nice.” Based on a novel by Jen Sacks, ‘Nice’ follows the story of a magazine writer who accidentally kills her boyfriend and discovers that killing boyfriends is easier than breaking up with them. Michael Bay has revealed plans to possibly shoot a “‘Pulp-Fiction’-type of movie’ before he begins work on the next installment of the “Transformers” series. He’s already stated that he wants a year off from “Transformers” and shooting a small film with no CGI is probably laying low for him. “I might do a small movie in between. [It is based on] a true story and it’s very funny. It’s a dark comedy,” he added. Hate him or really hate him, you have to admit Bay is damn entertaining within the media, but don’t really expect the film to be anywhere as smart as Tarantino’s sophomore film was. [MTV]

Finally! After premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, Claire Dennis’ “35 Shot Of Rum” has is set for U.S. distribution after striking a deal with The Cinema Guild. The Scottish band the Tindersticks wrote the score.[Indiewire]

In a move to combat its rival Hulu, Youtube has struck a deal with movie studios Sony and Lionsgate to stream full length movies and television shows. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of material they’ll be permitted to stream, but we’re curious if the quality will be tolerable for a whole film. [THR]

Writer Evan Spiliotopoulos has been hired to scribe a sequel to Timur Bekmambetov’s “Wanted.” Spiliotopoulos’ previous efforts include “Pooh’s Heffalump Movie,” “Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Muskateers” and “The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning.” We don’t even know where to begin commenting on this one. The trailer for Cameron Diaz’s meant-to-be uplifting cancer drama “My Sister’s Keeper” has been released. The film is apart of our illustrious Least Anticipated Films of 2009 and features Diaz with a fully shaved head. [Youtube]
