This weekend, the Tribeca Film Festival hosted a conversation between J.J. Abrams and Chris Rock that yielded some interesting stuff, notably the director explaining why “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” was so much like “Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope.” However, Abrams also teased some clues about the biggest question in the “Star Wars” universe right now: who are Rey’s parents?
“Rey’s parents are not in ‘Episode VII.’ So I can’t possibly say in this moment who they are. But I will say it is something that Rey thinks about, too,” Abrams said (via THR). So, might as well toss out those guesses that Luke is Rey’s Dad, right?
Well, not exactly. It seems Abrams backtracked on those comments, clarifying to EW, “What I meant was that she doesn’t discover them in ‘Episode VII.’ Not that they may not already be in her world.” So, maybe someone from ‘The Force Awakens’ is related to her after all?
Meanwhile, Rock wants Abrams to step in and save another franchise. “Can you direct the ‘Fantastic Four‘?” he asked. “Can someone save it? I love the Fantastic Four and they keep f—ing it up!” I dunno, maybe Abrams should just stick to getting “Star Wars” sorted out first.

I\’ll settle for a movie where the villain feels truly dangerous
For sure. Only whiny babies wipe out five planets.
