Tomorrow morning, we’ll find out if Nicolas Winding Refn will be returning to the Cannes Film Festival with his hugely anticipated “Only God Forgives.” Call it coincidence (or not), but the first official poster for the movie has landed today.
Nope, you won’t see Ryan Gosling putting up his dukes or pulling a dude across the floor by his jaw (did you not see the red band trailer?). Instead, you’ll get an eyeful of neon with the inviting tagline: Time To Meet The Devil. Nice. As you know, Gosling leads the pic as an American living in Bangkok, the son of a drug baroness (Kristin Scott Thomas) who gets mixed up with Chang, aka The Angel of Vengeance, played by Vithaya Pansringarm. Beautifully composed shots of unbelievable mayhem ensue.
