David Slade, director of “Hard Candy” and “30 Days Of Night,” was rumored last night to be one of the newest directors in line for the “Eclipse” gig, the third installment of the “Twilight” series.
This evening, it’s been made official. Author Stephenie Meyer in a press release:
“I am thrilled that David Slade will be directing Eclipse. He’s a visionary filmmaker who has so much to offer this franchise. From the beginning, we’ve been blessed with wonderful directorial talent for the Twilight Saga, and I’m so happy that Eclipse will be carrying on with that tradition.”
Whoa, he’s a “visionary,” just like Zack Snyder! Meanwhile, “Twilight” stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were caught, holding hands (que scandalo!) in Vancouver where the actors are shooting, “New Moon.” “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” is currently set for a June 30, 2010 release. [via TOH]
Someone needs to tell these people that “visionary” doesn’t mean the same thing as “able to see.”
I wonder how she knows? Meyer claims that she never sees R-rated movies (for religious reasons).
Maybe she just really liked STP’s “Sour Girl” video?
