Got a Tip?

Is Joss Whedon Teasing Quicksilver & The Scarlet Witch For ‘The Avengers 2’?

null

In case you missed the news earlier this week, Marvel has officially secured the rights to Daredevil after they lapsed at Fox, and with Phase Two now mapped out, could they be ready to unleash a whole new host of characters? We’re mostly getting sequels for the next couple of years starting with “Iron Man 3,” but the forthcoming “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” series and “Guardians of the Galaxy” certainly opens up the doors to see what other Marvel-verse characters can come out to play, and Joss Whedon is already teasing some new faces that might be appearing.

On the red carpet for the “Iron Man 3” premiere last night, Whedon was asked by Yahoo where he was at with the script for “The Avengers 2” and he let a little bit of a cat out of the bag. “I’ve got these two characters, two of my favorite characters from the comic book, a brother/sister act, they’re in the movie, that’s exciting,” he said. So who could it be?

You might recall that last year, Kevin Feige revealed that the tricky rights situation surrounding Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch — sibling twin superheroes — means that both Marvel and 20th Century Fox, are able to use them. “If they want to use them in the ‘X-Men‘ movies they could, if we want to use them in the ‘Avengers‘ movie we could,” he shared.

And while it seems Bryan Singer is stuffing every character he can into “X-Men: Days of Future Past” — Bishop and Warpath were recently confirmed — it would appear that Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch are still open territory. Of course, none of this is official and who knows what twists Whedon might be saving for later, but this is probably a pretty good guess.

So, thoughts? Too many heroes in the mix or the right guys to bring on? Weigh in below.

  1. You heard it here first… its Cloak and Dagger.

"Cloak and Dagger were chosen as one of the many properties in Marvel's new film deal with Paramount Pictures, along with Captain America, Nick Fury, Doctor Strange, Hawkeye, Power Pack, Shang-Chi, and Black Panther."

  2. Personally I think bringing Ant Man and Wasp into the fold would be great. And then you can ease your way into the Edgar Wright stand alone Ant Man movie with people already knowing who the character is and what he can do (and you can skip another origin story).
