Trailer says, “yes.” Comedy producer/writer/mayor Judd Apatow’s track record in recent years has been impeccable, but two actors that never need to appear in a film together: Adam Sandler and the dreadful Rob Schneider are starring in this thing unfortunately.
Despite being written by the impressive trio of Judd Apatow, Sandler and Robert Smigel (“Triumph The Insult Dog”), “You Don’t Mess With Zohan,” looks terribly unfunny (it’s a film we called out when we looked at Apatow’s many projects for 2009 and beyond).
‘Zohan’ centers around a Mossad agent (Sandler) who fakes his death so he can move to New York and become a hair stylist (ugh, simply retarded). Let’s face it, this isn’t going to be a traditional Apatow film, it’s going to be a characteristically stupid Adam Sandler vehicle. Plan to skip it now.
Eh. You just don’t like Jews. This film looks way funnier than the Dewey “Sucks” Cox excuse of a comedy.
It’s true. And Dewey Cox might be idiotic, but it’s still pretty damn funny.
PS, Apatow is Jewish.
There’s talk that we may be revoking his membership. He’s losing his underdog status and frankly, that’s an essential part of the image, man.
Excommunication, huh? Damn. Keep me posted.
“Is Adam Sandler Going To Ruin Judd Apatow’s Midas Touch With ‘Zohan’?”
It’s the OTHER WAY AROUND!
I love Apatow, but come on, Sandler had his own brand of comedy and stable of actors doing very well for him. Apatow’s stink on a Sandler film? No thanks.
