Anthony Ramos is having a moment, for sure. Not only was he one of the stars of the recent musical hit, “In the Heights,” but he already had a big role in Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” and is set to lead the cast of the new “Transformers” film arriving in 2023. So, what’s next? Obviously, he has to make his Marvel Studios debut.
According to Deadline, Anthony Ramos has been cast in the upcoming “Ironheart” streaming series from Marvel Studios. “Ironheart” is set to star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a young genius inventor who develops her own suit of armor and fights crime after being inspired by Iron Man. As with everything related to Marvel Studios, Ramos’ role in the series is being kept under wraps, but the report claims that the actor is being set up in “Ironheart” and will be explored further in future Marvel projects, similar to how Jonathan Majors appeared in “Loki.”
It’s unclear when production will begin on “Ironheart” and when we might see the streaming series debut. Marvel Studios has a number of TV projects in production/development, and the studio seems to have plenty of options for the next year or two, with “Moon Knight” leading the way in March. Also likely to appear in 2022 are “She-Hulk,” “Ms. Marvel,” “What If?” Season 2, and perhaps even “Secret Invasion.”
It’s also reported that Thorne isn’t going to make her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “Ironheart.” She’ll actually show up first in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” which means a 2023 debut for “Ironheart” seems most likely.
