While many American film fans probably know Donnie Yen best from his role in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” there is a worldwide audience that knows his from his plethora of incredible Chinese films, including the popular “Ip Man” franchise. And now, 11 years after the original, “Ip Man 4” not only showcases Yen’s incredible martial arts abilities but also signals the end of the acclaimed series.
As seen in the new teaser for “Ip Man 4: The Finale,” Yen is back as the Wing Chun master. While the teaser only shows about 30 seconds of footage, we see the actor using his incredible abilities on a training dummy, while also showing that he’s likely going to come into a clash with some military folks. Reports claim that this final film in the franchise will show what happens with Ip Man comes to the US to catch up with his student, Bruce Lee, and finds that racial tensions are far worse than he expected.

Joining Yen in the film’s cast are Wu Yue, Van Ness, Scott Adkins, Kent Cheng, Chan Kwok Kwan Danny, Kanin Ngo, Chris Collins, and Vanda Margraf.
The final ‘Ip Man’ film is set for release on December 25 in select theaters.

Ip Man’s life remains unchanged after his wife’s death, but he and his son are slowly drifting apart. To seek a better future for his son, Ip Man decides to travel to the U.S. only to find the stable, peaceful life abroad is only skin deep. Underneath lies a deep rooted racial discrimination that is far worse than he has expected. Ip Man re-examines his position and ponders on the reason he took up martial arts in the beginning.
