Got a Tip?

‘Broad City’s’ Ilana Glazer To Co-Write, Produce & Star In New Psychological Horror Film From A24

A24 is working on a new psychological horror film, and surprisingly, it’s coming from the minds of two people well-versed in comedy. The production company just announced that a new film titled “False Positive” has just begun production, and it is being co-written by Ilana Glazer and John Lee, the latter of which directs the feature.

While the plot is being kept under wraps, “False Positive” has quite the comedic pedigree behind the scenes, especially for a horror film. Glazer is best known for her work on “Broad City,” but has shown up recently in two major comedy films, “The Night Before” and “Rough Night.” Lee, who co-writes and directs “False Positive,” has extensive work behind-the-scenes of many comedy series, including the aforementioned “Broad City,” as well as “Wondershowzen,” “Inside Amy Schumer,” and “The Last OG.

Now, joining Glazer in the cast is a strong selection of actors that includes Justin Theroux, Pierce Brosnan. Zainab Jah, Gretchen Mol, Sophia Bush, and Josh Hamilton.

Again, we have no clue what “False Positive” is about, other than it’s described as a psychological horror film. The film marks Glazer’s first film job since the end of “Broad City.” Could we be seeing the introduction of another comedian-turned-horror master a la Jordan Peele? Guess we will find out soon enough.

No release date has been set, but considering production has just begun on the film, we could be seeing “False Positive” sooner rather than later.
