Perhaps you heard about this Soundtrack Series we do from time to time (read more). We could go on for years to explain our intentions here, but we won’t bore you. Suffice to say when we heard back in early 2006 that Wes’ new movie would be set in India we began mulling that idea around and obviously came up with the films of Satyajit Ray which lead us to all kinds of things (some on the mark and some just nice and different, aside from all the other wide possibilities of course). This is a lot to absorb in one sitting so we suggest you don’t, but we hope you enjoy. A bit of thought and time went into it.

*We was too lazy to change the artwork to “outtakes” on Disc III, sorry.
*Links removed, too many issues with Google.
I like disc two as well. Sometimes I think disc one is appropriately as enjoyable, complicated, frustrating and difficult as “The Darjeeling Limited” was/is.
I’ve just downloaded the entire soundtrack series. I think it will take me a few days to get through this. I am very grateful and thankful that your blog exist’s. It has opened me up to quite a few new artist and well needless to say………. You the man!
I just downloaded the Wes Anderson series and have yet to listen to it, but wanted to let you know that the Leonard Cohen song on Disc 1 is absent. I made a collection of songs from Wes Anderson films and am curious to hear your selections. Excellent work.
Hmm, that’s odd. I’ll check again tomorrow and fix. Email me and i will send you the song.
I just downloaded the first two and have yet to give them a thorough listen, but hurrah for including both “Something on my mind” and “I Live for you” – two of my favorites, the latter being my absolute favorite Harrison song. 🙂
Thanks. I adore them both too! (esp the Harrison)
These are great! Any chance of adding another Wes Anderson playlist?
Isn’t three discs, excessive enough? 😉
Is there any way to get these? Divshare says you have reached your download limit until Nov. 10th.
I would love to get these and other playlists that you have made. Great idea!
Well done. Really. Great job.
Thank you. I think Divshare will be back up in a few days (Nov 8) for those still waiting. If it doesn’t work then, I’ll re-upload elsewhere. And i think i have enough (or am getting there) for another Wes playlist, but i really think i probably won’t release it until i do like 5-6 other filmmakers first.
can you post on another site besides Divshare? like megaupload or zshare? or something with less download limits, i’d really like to hear this.
They’re re-upped with no divshare.
for some reason i can't seem to donwload cd I. Anyone else with this problem? it keeps saying that the service is at full capacity but then i can download II & III without any problem… is it possible to upload somewhere else. Thank you
P.S. THANK YOU FOR THE AMAZING MUSIC
any chance you could help me find a copy of “sand” by lee hazlewood and nancy sinatra?
i’m sure i got it through one of these soundtracks (which by the way are incredible) but cant for the life of me find it.
any help would be incredible useful.
please please please keep up the good work.
thx4EVERYTHING.
thanks for everything is there a way to put some more ravi shankur or lead me to some free music from him/her…these are mad nice..these were pretty much soundtracks made from the Playlist’s minds with inspiration from Wes Andersons mind..word collabs
This is amazing, Huge respect for putting these together! I'm still in shock that something like the exists. Not to mention for all the other playlists for directors! "The Playlist" Rocks!
THESE ARE UNREAL! I love playlists but I always make the same ones over and over just with the songs in different orders. Thanks for getting me into so much different music!
Thanks. 🙂
awesome, thank you thank you thank you. love the wes anderson and tarantino cuts.
also, creation's "making time" and e. smith's "needle in the hay" are two of my all time wes film favorites!
:0)
No Play With Fire? I'm drunk in a bathtub so excuse me if I can't read
What film is "Ring for the Kings" from? Does it predate The 400 Blows? Because it sounds very similar to the the score from that film.
Way after the 400 Blows. It's from the 1980 Satyajit Ray film, "Heerak Rajar Deshe."
Anywhere / place where someone could re-up this? I have been scrounging to find some of these songs.
i need them re-upped. I as well love this website and now that its on indie wire but i lost these on my harddrive. 🙁 thanks
is there any way to get these? must have!
