“The ‘X-Men‘ script? It’s in my inbox. I’ve still got to read it. I’m very excited about it, but I’ve just been doing so much of this and working at night so I’m starting work at 9 and don’t finish until midnight so I’m not being flippant. I honestly can’t wait to read it and find out what I’m doing, but I’ve just got no time right now,” James McAvoy told press just over a week ago, so perhaps he can be forgiven for getting some of the details wrong about “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”
The actor is currently in the midst of promoting two movies — “Welcome To The Punch” and “Trance” — all while playing Macbeth on stage, so when he recently rattled off Alan Cumming aka Nightcrawler as part of the ‘Future Past’ cast, it seems he understandably got some details mixed up. Because according to Cumming himself, he’s not in the movie nor has he even been approached.
“No, they haven’t [asked me to return]. Someone asked me that the other day and I said no. I know the one that’s coming up shoots this spring, but I wouldn’t be available anyway,” he said on the radio show Dirty Pop (via First Showing). “I don’t think they have. I was going to meet my manager for dinner later, I was going to ask him about it, but no, I’m sure they would’ve told me, had they approached.”
So yeah, scratch Nightcrawler off the list for now, but ‘Days Of Future Past’ could probably use one less character with Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Peter Dinklage, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore and Hugh Jackman all slated to appear. The movie hits on July 18, 2014.
Why would Alan Cumming be promoting those two movies when according to IMDB he isn't in either of them??
