The upcoming film “Hustlers” had a bit of a unique problem with its marketing. And by problem, I mean, the film released a trailer that was perfectly constructed, advertising the story, the all-star cast, and featured music that would get stuck in your head for the rest of the day. Whereas most films take a few trailers to land the right mix of the above attributes, “Hustlers” did it right out of the gate. So, it makes sense that the newest trailer for the film tries a different angle.

In the new trailer for “Hustlers,” the short clip is highlighted by a scene between a trio of actresses that introduces the crux of the film (a group of female exotic dancers trying to get by, however they can) but also shows off one of the movie’s selling points — superstar Cardi B. The rapper is front-and-center in the clip, with her acting and her music, as the marketing department attempts to appeal to the millions of folks that buy her music.
And if Cardi B isn’t enough to sell the film, then the incredible cast that includes Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, and Lizzo most surely will. “Hustlers” is based on a New York Magazine article by Jessica Pressler that was adapted by writer-director Lorene Scafaria.
“Hustlers” is set to make a quick detour at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival before arriving in theaters on September 13.
Here’s the synopsis:
Hustlers follows a crew of savvy former strip club employees who band together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients. The film is inspired by the article published by New York Magazine entitled “The Hustlers at Scores” written by Jessica Pressler.
