‘Hotel Mumbai’ Trailer: Dev Patel & Armie Hammer Try To Survive A Terrorist Attack

Dev Patel is coming off one of his most successful films to date, “Lion,” which earned him his first Academy Award nomination. And it appears that his good luck will continue with the upcoming “Hotel Mumbai.”

In the first teaser for “Hotel Mumbai,” we are introduced to Patel’s character, a family man working at the prestigious Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. What starts as a normal day in Mumbai turns to chaos when a terrorist attack happens in the city, and the folks at the Taj are held hostage. Now, Patel’s character must deal with trying to stay safe himself, as well as the rest of the guests that are staying at the hotel.

“Hotel Mumbai” premiered at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival to rave reviews. The film is directed by Anthony Maras, a young Australian director making his feature-length film debut.

Joining Patel in the cast are Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi, Jason Isaacs, Anupam Kher, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Angus McLaren, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Rodney Afif, and Sachin Joab.

“Hotel Mumbai” hits theaters March 29, 2019.

Here’s the official synopsis:

HOTEL MUMBAI is based on the true story of the devastating terrorist attack on the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in 2008. The terrifying assault brings together the guests and staff of the luxurious hotel including wealthy new parents David and Zahra (Armie Hammer and Nazanin Boniadi), Russian businessman Vasili (Jason Issacs) and newly promoted waiter Arjun (Dev Patel) in a desperate fight for survival. This story celebrates humanity, compassion, courage, resilience and the unwavering desire to survive.
