It was only a few months ago that the world received the live action adaptation of “Ghost In The Shell,” and frankly, many were ready to give it back. Unable to sidestep accusations of whitewashing the source material (which it turns out, it pretty much did), and fatally misunderstanding what made the anime so beloved, were what led to the film flopping. And Screen Junkies dives right into the whole mess in their latest Honest Trailer.
Scarlett Johansson combines all onscreen personas into a single character in “Ghost In The Shell,” which has a curious problem. The anime may have been endlessly influential, but when itself adapted to the big screen, it feels like a retread of everything else that copied from it. It’s certainly a unique problem to have. Couple that with a narrative that doesn’t move very much, and you have a recipe for disaster. And that’s kind of what happened. Thoughts? Hit up the comments section.

It was really a dumbed down remake with ridiculous casting, the producers either didn’t get the plot it thought general audiences are stupid. The turning Japanese part was perfect
