Sadly, for many people in the US, you probably recognize actor Stephen Graham most from his recent performance in the 2021 hit, “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” as a San Francisco police detective hot on the trail of Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy). But for decades now, Graham has consistently proven to be one of the most interesting actors working today, and for his latest film, “Help,” he stars opposite another big name, Jodie Comer.

As seen in the trailer for “Help,” the film follows the story of an assisted living home for older folks. We see one young woman (Comer) as she has to deal with the day-to-day reality of working at the home, while also dealing with a frequent escapee (Graham) and the growing threat of COVID.
As mentioned, the film stars Graham and Comer. Graham is one of the best British actors working today, appearing in a number of great films such as “This is England” and “Snatch.” He’s also shown up in “The Irishman,” as well as “Gangs of New York” and “Public Enemies.” Comer, of course, recently earned rave reviews for her role in “The Last Duel.” She’s probably best known for her work in “Killing Eve.”
Joining Comer and Graham in the cast is actress Lesley Sharp. “Help” is written by Jack Thorne (“Enola Holmes,” “His Dark Materials”) and directed by Marc Munden. The filmmaker is probably best known for his projects such as “The Third Day” and “The Secret Garden.”
“Help” originally aired in the UK on Channel 4 back in September. However, since folks in the US don’t get access to that, we’re going to have to wait for the film to debut on the streaming service, Acorn TV. A subsidiary of AMC Networks, Acorn TV specializes in showcasing British films and TV series that are often missed by US audiences.
“Help” is expected to debut on Acorn TV on January 31. You can watch the trailer for the film below:
