A new photo of Heath Ledger from Terry Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus” has surfaced. Let’s hope the movie isn’t as terrible as that bizarro script is, but let’s face it, Gilliam’s batting average these days is in the toilet.
Roger Ebert reviewed the first eight minutes of the gay independent film “Tru Loved” and now he regrets it cause he realizes the move made him look like a toolbag. [Defamer]
Quality first, right? Dimension Films is planning 18 straight-to-dvd releases of what we can only presume is total shlock. [Variety]
InContention calls James Gray’s “Two Lovers,” starring Gwyneth Paltrow (a film we’ve been wanting to see), ‘a disarmingly modest tale of misdirected passion, could just as easily be set in 1958 as in the present day. This is both one of its charms and one of its failings.”

Crave has an exclusive clip of the touching, vampire buddy Swedish horror film, “Let The Right One In.” If we don’t get time to write a full review, before the film’s release date this Friday, October 24, let’s just say it’s maybe not as amazing as it’s been hyped up to be, but it’s still a pretty interesting and fresh take on the vampire genre with some really nice emotional notes. Manage your expectations a little bit and you’ll be totally pleased. We do recommend it.
I’m seeing Two Lovers at the Austin Film Festival tomorrow. I’ll try and write up a review.
I also saw “A Quiet Little Marriage” which was a really solid smaller film. I should review that too.
Oh, and the first 5 minutes of “Lake City” starring Sissy Spacek were HORRIBLE.
Rad, do it up. Sorry i steered you towards, Lake City, but i’m telling you Visioneers is mostly ungood.
Right One and Synecdoche both open this weekend. My meager entertainment budget is torn…
